AVX Corporation has introduced the NB23 series 0402 surface-mount negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors, designed for temperature compensation and control applications in handheld and portable electronic devices. The compact size allows placement within battery packs as a temperature sensor, delivering performance equivalent to larger NTC thermistors with resistance values ranging from 10kΩ to 100kΩ. The thermistor has a dissipation power of 150mW, a thermal dissipation factor of 0.8mW/℃, and operates within a temperature range of -55℃ to +150℃. It features tin-plated terminals and supports lead-free high-temperature soldering. The NB23 series is suitable for portable devices such as mobile phones, hard drives, laptops, and compact disc players. Its NTC thermistors are also available in 0603, 0805, and 1206 sizes.diode
