NPN transistor is an electronic component made of three different doped semiconductor materials. It is an L6562ADTR bipolar transistor and one of the most commonly used components in electronics. Its name comes from three doped regions inside, namely N-type region, P-type region, and N-type region. Among them, the P-type region is called the base region, and the N-type region is called the emitter region and collector region. The base region of an NPN transistors  is a thinner area, while the emitter and collector regions are thicker areas.

Construction of NPN transistor

NPN transistors are composed of three different doped semiconductor materials, namely P-type semiconductor, N-type semiconductor, and P-type semiconductor. Among them, there is a very thin region between the P-type semiconductor and the N-type semiconductor, called the base region, while the region between the N-type semiconductor and the P-type semiconductor is called the emitter region and the collector region, respectively.

The principle of NPN transistor

NPN transistor is a bipolar transistors  that controls the current between the emitter and collector regions by controlling the current in the base region. When the base receives a forward voltage, electrons in the base region are pushed towards the emitter region, which causes electrons in the emitter region to flow towards the collector region, thus forming a current from the emitter region to the collector region.

When the base receives a negative voltage, electrons in the base region are attracted to the base, which prevents electrons in the emitter region from flowing to the collector region, thereby preventing current from flowing from the emitter region to the collector region.transistors
